Ultimate Frisbee in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Nearby Regions

Dear ultimate players of Salt Lake City and nearby regions,

I started UltimateSLC in 2007 because there were very little online/web resources to obtain information about ultimate in the city. As a new player myself, I wanted to get more into the sport, but couldn’t seem to find out when/where things were happening. I created UltimateSLC at that time to help ensure that information about the sport locally was available and findable.

As some of you know, there is now an organization called the “Utah Ultimate Disc Association” (UUDA) that has its own website. I have been talking to UUDA about their vision for the sport locally and how they will post information online. We have come to the mutual conclusion that we should now redirect all information about the sport over to the new site.

So, UltimateSLC will be shutting down sometime in the next few months. The forum will be closed immediately (that’s OK, it isn’t being used very much). The entire site will most likely redirect to UUDA’s site at some point so that new visitors won’t get lost. Please consider UUDA to be the primary source for new information about Ultimate in the city from this time forward.

I sincerely appreciate everyone who has contributed to the site. Thank you for your donations, updates, and encouragement. I’m looking forward to joining forces with UUDA so that the sport can grow in the state. Please email me at joey@ultimateslc.org if you have any comments or concerns about the change.

It's TIME!!! Time for Salt Lake Ultimate's annual Halloween Hat Tournament!

When: October 27th, 2012

The cost is $10 ($5 for anyone with a CURRENT highschool or college student ID).

As in years past, we will be playing for charity & this year our fun will benefit The Boys & Girls Club of Salt Lake.

COSTUMES REQUIRED!!! Please, come out & play some ultimate with us for a good cause, all while wearing a silly outfit.

Registration begins at 9am! Arrive early for your pick of delicious treats!

Hello Players,

Fall Ultimate Frisbee League will begin on September 24 at 5:45 pm. All of the games will be played at Sunnyside park.

Registration is open! You can sign up online at activityreg.com, or call/come by the Sports Office, 5201 South Murray Park Lane. The fee for Fall League is $25 if paid before Monday, September 17, at 12 pm. A $10 late fee will be added to anyone who signs up late. The Fall draft will be held on September 17, 2012, at the County Sports Office at 6:00 pm. Captains be there or please find a replacement.

Killjoys Men's Club Team - Tryouts -

PS: The Florida tournament is going to be a big stage tournament and we are really excited to play in it. We want to take the best possible team and that is why we are trying to recruit some of the Salt Lake folk.

Orientation/pickup night: Thursday, July 19, 6:00PM
First league game: Thursday, July 26, 6:00PM

All games and events will be held at the County Ice Fields in Murray. Please see this PDF for more details.

Golden Spike is the premier COED traveling club team in Utah. They will be holding tryouts and invite anyone and everyone who would like to play for the team to come. Expectations are that you will be at all the tryouts and that you will give it your best effort.

Tryout dates are as follows:
Saturday May 12 at 9:00am
Wednesday May 16 at 6:30pm
Sunday May 20 at 9:00am
Wednesday May 23 at 6:30pm

Tryouts will be held at sugarhouse park.

Needs include:

1. Field setup (8-16 people depending on number of fields)
2. Field tear down (about the same number)
3. Food - if the college teams are going to use this as a fundraiser, they need to confirm asap, if not, we need to try and get a caterer fast.
4. Frisbee Central - I need 4-8 volunteers to watch frisbee central on Saturday, maybe 2-3 on Sunday (of course, one very dedicated person could also do this). (I say 4-8 so each person would only need to be there for an hour or two.)
5. Runners - it would be good to have 2-3 runners/floaters who can help move water around, etc on Sat/Sun
6. Brochure - it would be nice to have someone to print up the brochure on thursday-ish

Spring League is now open for registration. This is a coed league for all abilities, newcomers welcome! Players register as individuals after which teams are created by a draft.

Games

• Orientation/pickup will be held 4/12/2012. This is recommended for beginner players and required for team captains.
• Official games start on 04/19/2012.
• Games are held on Thursday evenings between 6 and 9 PM. Typically, teams will play two games each night.

Location

All games are played at the County Ice Field, 5201 South Murray Park Lane (160 East).

Fee: $25 ($30 after March 30th)
Fee includes a jersey and round robin play, followed by a league tournament.
